Only a select few Northern riders made it to the Para Spring Qualifier at Manor Grange Stud on 12th April. They had lots of entries in the BD classes so we didn't ride until around 6pm so in the end I could only take Indi - Trevor had been dropped off at the Moody's yard on the way in advance of our trip to Belgium with Indi.
I was the only one in Grade III but Indi went well and scored 70.77% for 1st place. Unfortunately there was a mix up with the scores - the collectives were all added up incorrectly by the computer, so initially everyone had amazingly high scores. Apart from that, everything ran smoothly and everyone at Manor Grange was really helpful. I hope they will run more Para Qualifiers in future as this was their first one.
I have just returned from an excellent show in Belgium, my first international of 2008. Indi was going well and achieved 3rd place in the Grade III Freestyle with 69.167% and 4th place in the Championship Test. My team mate Eilish Byrne also had a good show with her horse Youri achieving 2nd, 3rd and 5th places.
We are hoping to go to the CPEDI4* competition in Kristiansand, Norway in June, if we can sort out the transport as it's rather a long way, and then will go to Hartpury in July.
